Aries
It is time to let your creative juices flow. If you have been thinking of starting something new and fun-filled then this is the month to act. Creativity means different things to different people. For some tending to accounts and bookwork is joyful. For others it is writing, performing, dancing or any of the arts. Taurus

How are your communication skills? August provides you with the opportunity to observe and perhaps change the way that you connect with other people. This is particularly true when it comes to your relationships with siblings and other family members.  Often the word “communication” invokes images of talking rather than listening. You now have the chance to learn more about both. Are you really connecting with your loved ones or are you simply share air space?  You are likely to be busy and yet you may decide to write, learn, study, read, draw or join a neighbourhood group.  If nothing else your FaceBook status updates may be more regular. You may make adjustments in your professional life to enable you to take some time to explore your creative opportunities, or you may simply rest at home.

Gemini

Money flows abundantly in your life this month. The question is: “Is it flowing in or is it flowing out”? In other words you need to be wary of blowing out the budget. The same could be said for your energy levels. You need to make sure that you are not burning the candle at both ends.  It is time to slow down and count your blessings. Your self-esteem and income are under the influence of the planet of abundance, but you need to make sure that you make wise decisions.  Your mind is likely to be active right now. Perhaps you are planning a particular project, or something is playing on your mind. This might be the right time to recall a quote from self-help author Robert Collier who says that “all riches have their origin in mind. Wealth is in ideas - not money.”

Cancer

Three planets are currently in your Zodiac Sign suggesting that this is a time for developing new goals. It is time to expand your horizons.  Cancerians are the natural nurturers of the Zodiac. Right now it is time to nurture you not others. You might feel like life is in turbo charge mode. Rather than resist try to make the most of the opportunities that arise. Those around you are unlikely to see any changes in you this month as you appear to be your usual cheerful and loveable self. However, beneath the surface something is brewing. This could be that serious matters or loved ones are upsetting your usual equilibrium or that you are contemplating a change of direction, or both. Whatever the scenario August is a time to look after the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual sides of yourself. You may receive a monetary gift and so perhaps you can afford to go on a short holiday, indulge in a massage or an outing to the theatre. It is important that you focus on your own health and wellbeing. This is the ideal time to tune in to your Guardian Angel or that still small voice within that guides you through your life’s journey.

The planet of love and money has moved into your Zodiac Sign heralding a time of pleasantry and good company.  However, you also have a need to retreat and recharge your batteries which contrasts somewhat with Venus’ message. Sagittarius

Overseas connections and your profession are influenced by positive planets this month. Nevertheless this is a time of some intensity. You are getting mixed messages. On the one hand your career and connections with people from other cultures are flourishing.  Venus, the planet of love and luck, is shining its rays on your life direction. Opportunities to connect with friends, colleagues and generally pursue your work objectives abound. You may even receive a reward or a bonus! Aquarius

Aries
Plotting behind the scenes and making plans are the theme during June.  It may be that you are ready for some new action – when are you not? Or perhaps something or someone is occupying your thoughts.  If something is troubling you then a brief change of scenery may lift your spirits. This is the ideal time to make up your mind to be positive, to take short trips or join neighbourhood groups. These may seem like short-term decisions, but they positively influence your life by setting up networks that support and sustain you.  The ever quick-minded Aries may soon be bored, but you would be well advised to at least try a few different options and see where these lead you. At the very least you escape boredom. If all else fails then meditation or a retreat may appeal.

Taurus
Money matters are of foremost importance for the security-minded Taureans.  This June sees you revising your budget and spending habits.  You may take a short trip but otherwise you are likely to be revising your worth, doing your sums and working out ways to either increase your good fortune, or pay off previous debts. You need to make sure that well-meaning friends and colleagues do not lead you astray this month. You have a right to pursue your hopes, dreams and wishes. Once you have devised a reliable Taurean fiscal plan then ensure that you also are able to enjoy the fruits of your labours.

Your busy schedule gets even more hectic this month. Sagittarius

Aquarius

Pisces

This can include your closest loved ones, and your extended family. Love is in the air, not of the romantic kind, but of the warm and cuddly variety.

May 10 Eclipse Letting Go

When I was younger I read a lot of Herman Hesse. His writing was insightful, inspirational and somehow both eerily reminded me of my aloneness and yet affirmed the aloneness on an existential level. This is very soothing to a young person who feels that they see the world differently from most of their peers. Needless to say I grew out of my Hesse phase, but today I am reminded of his words as an Eclipse heralds changes and the need to let go. The Solar Eclipse will occur at 9.58.22am Adelaide time. While it will be highly significant for anyone with Fixed Signs – Taurus, Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius – it is also a reminder to all of us to “let go” of personal desires which stand in the way of the greater good. Take a moment to ponder how this can affect you.

Aries: The time has come to reinvent yourself, or at least areas of your life that need a facelift. Aries are the pioneers of the Zodiac and need to be venturing into new territories.  So you will be pleased to know that the time is ripe for change. Key planets in Aries this month indicate that you can now throw off any shackles that are holding you back and forge ahead. Life decisions can be a little tricky as you need to reinvent but not necessarily cull. Only you can decide if you truly need to start anew in one or more areas. It may be possible to make changes without throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Rash behaviour is not helpful, but decisive action is called for. The main areas to focus on are your health, money and relationships. Now is an excellent time to find a physical outlet for your pent-up energy but nothing that is involves risks, or danger.

Taurus :  It is quite common to feel a little more reclusive in the month leading up to your birthday. The month prior to celebrations can be an ideal time to reassess the past year before making new Birthday year resolutions.  The start of April sees you doing exactly this. You are quietly contemplating the changes that have occurred with a view to taking a practical approach to the forthcoming year. As a result you may be less social than usual. The positive planet Jupiter is in your money sector indicating that, as long as you do not overspend, your income is likely to improve. April is an ideal month for self-improvement activities such as personal growth groups, a hobby that lifts your spirits, meditation, or an artistic endeavour. Gemini:  April is a busy, busy month. Your social calendar is full.  You have an expanding sense of self-worth, and enthusiasm for sharing your joie-de-vivre with anyone who comes into your realm. Sagittarius: April is a creative month for the Archers of the Zodiac. It is not necessarily a busy month. Sometimes the most creative moments can be born when relaxing at home. Capricorn:  April is the perfect month for you to get your house in order. This can mean many things. Aries - As the planets travel through the Zodiac different Signs are highlighted at different times of the year. This truth is obvious. What is not so obvious, until you think about it, is that this means that you are going to be at your strongest at certain times of the year and therefore at your weakest at others. Once we know the ebb and flow of the planets, and life, then we can swim with the current rather than against it. Right now the planets are aligned mostly in Aquarius and Pisces, the two Signs that precede yours. Therefore you would be well-advised to be quietly reflecting on your life and your achievements in the past year, before making some new Birthday resolutions. It is time to reflect rather than act. However, quiet reflection is not usually Aries style (unless you are a very introverted loner Aries type). Hence you are likely to be either gloating about your good fortune or flailing against the misfortunes that you perceive have befallen you. Luckily it is also in an Aries nature to move forward rather quickly rather than wallow. So this does not last long. Your best course of action is to consult with your friends, those who really know and love you. Your friends and associates can provide much solace and stimulation during February. Relationship issues are also likely to arise. If you are single then you may meet someone special, perhaps a Libran. If you are in a committed partnership then changes are needed for you to feel in sync.

Taurus - 2013 is about your life direction. Are you headed in the right direction? If so then opportunities abound for you to forge ahead in your career and marital life. Gemini - This is your month to make hay while the sun shines. Of course you have responsibilities that cannot be shirked but this is your month to broaden your horizons and enjoy yourself.  The mischievous Geminis will be happy to know that you can go out and make mischief in the most positive sense of the word. Some people take themselves far too seriously and it is the Geminis purpose in life to remind them to lighten up. Comedy, the arts, sports, and even religion if it is not too serious can take centre stage during February.  This is no time to hide your light under a bushel. Whether you are the typical extroverted Gemini, or the introverted Twin you can now express yourself with confidence that your message is true.  Teaching, lecturing, tutoring, acting, dancing, or just plain showing off can all get your message across. This is not an egotistical expression but a true outlet for your fun-loving and wise soul. Mercury, the ruler of your Sign moves into the sensitive and artistic Pisces this month and this lends you more sensitivity than you may usually have. Cancer – February sees a continuation of your annual theme - other people are the focus. As with last month it may seem that your own hopes, dreams and wishes are on hold but in fact you can benefit greatly by sharing the experiences, even the difficult ones, with your loved ones. During February you may contemplate how and where you invest your time and money. Do you emotionally invest in the right people? Your financial investments also need some attention. Like last month, it is also possible that you form partnerships of a different nature – a business agreement or a creative co-operation.  If you want to have fun then you will have to work at it. Everything you need to know will be on the screen.  Basically female Leos need company, a man to admire them but not take their limelight and a “pride” of female friends. This is your month to bask in your “leo-ness”.   During February your friends are on the right track. Either way February is a time to enjoy the present moment rather than dwell on the past, or project too far into the future.

Virgo – Bite your tongue. This may seem a strange thing to say as Virgos are not known for speaking out loud, but you are known for your sometimes critical thoughts and comments. These can be a very positive asset when a demanding intellectual task is required, however not so helpful when it comes to human frailties. All Zodiac Signs have their strengths and weaknesses. Sagittarians are generally best known for foot in mouth disease, but Virgos are the most likely to challenge others of the correctness of their attitude. Capricorn – Money Matters are highlighted during February. Aquarius – You may have responsibilities at work, or as the head of your household, but this month sees you free to express yourself.  Usually Aquarians are very group, or cause oriented, but this month you can be very self-directed if you like.  Your fixed ideas may be challenged, not by others, but by your own experiences.  These are not the tough experiences of life, but rather something creative and inspiring speaks directly to you. It is possible that you will take up a course of higher learning, travel abroad or meet people from another culture. These experiences stimulate the changes in your view of yourself and life. This is exactly the stuff that Aquarians like life to be made of. If all else fails go to the cinema, watch dvds, read books, attend a musical concert or a theatrical events. Pisces – The first half of February is a more reflective time when you need to slow down and consider the past year – your personal and professional achievements. Mercury - the planet with a message

Astrologers make much ado about the planet Mercury going Retrograde - a seemingly backward motion in the heavens. This is because Mercury is the Messenger, the connector. If we are not connected then we are adrift. Astrologers say it is better to accept the state of being disconnected when Mercury is Retrograde. Therefore contemplation and rumination are better options during these times.

Some would say that all things ruled by Mercury will go awry during these Mercury Retro periods (currently until April 4). Certainly an Astrologer would advise that current plans to purchase goods and services, sign contracts or make announcements should be delayed until this tricky planet changes direction. Otherwise you may experiences delays and frustrations.

Happy New Year - The Right Timing

Happy New Year! A new Calendar Year starts and as we consider our New Year’s resolutions you may want to consider your emotional health, as much as your physical and material well-being. By all means start a membership at the gym, or save for that special occasion, but also take a moment to consider your most intimate life goals. Astrology is an ideal tool for timing personal events, ensuring that our material and physical structures match our inner truth, and for helping us to remain on track. As a result many decide that it is the New Year is an ideal time for a Birth Chart Reading.

As most know an accurate Horoscope reading requires accurate birth details – date, place and TIME of birth. So what happens when you do not know your TIME of Birth?
The first step is to exhaust all possibilities ­ ask a living relative, search for baby records, phone the hospital or phone the local library if your hospital has since closed. Many people are surprised to know that hospitals will provide a time of birth if requested. Some charge a small fee for the service and take two to three weeks to deliver the results. Nevertheless this is a vital service for those wanting an accurate Astrological reading.

If you still can’t discover your time of birth then you may like to partake in a special process called “Rectification”. This is a complex process undertaken by a professional Astrologer. During this process the Astrologer will ask you for a Calendar of Life Events, which include major life events, timed as closely as possible to a day. The astrologer will then undertake a complex procedure of matching dates to astrological events with the view to finding a time for you. Once you have a “Rectified” chart by a qualified astrologer then you are able to start your astrological journey.

The process is a demanding and rewarding one for the astrologer and costs can range. My own fee is AUD$160. This can be a very therapeutic process and can be collated gently over a period of time i.e. as you think of something add it to the list, even if you don’t have the time to research the exact date.
